The Black Halo Racing Long-Tube Header is designed with popular racing designs in mind combined with a few power-improving features and made with the best fitment/easiest installation possible. By utilizing CNC-transitions from the rectangle engine ports to the round engine flange inlets, Schedule 10 bends on the engine flange, 1-7/8" primary tubes, and a 3" collector, we were able to maximize potential torque gains while maintaining long-term durability.
The Black Halo Racing Long-Tube Header is available in 2.5" and 3" outlets so as to fit nearly any cat-back exhaust system on the market (including the forthcoming Black Halo Racing Cat-Back Exhaust System available in Spring/Summer 2019).
The test vehicle used was a 2008 Mazda RX-8 40th Anniversary Edition with 25,000 (+/-) original miles on the car and engine, with the only modification being a Black Halo Racing Ignition System. No PCM tuning was done at any time nor was any additional dwell time added to the coils.
The dynamometer sheet displayed is an averaging of 10 test runs in the trim described above, and 10 runs with the only change being the BHR Long-Tube Header installed 40 minutes after the baseline runs were performed.
It should be noted that many factors will influence individual engine performance such as engine condition, fuel quality and fuel system delivery, ignition system operation, other modifications installed on the car and/or engine, and any particular tuning which may have been performed.
For those who already have the Black Halo Racing Midpipe, we have a package specifically for you at a reduced price as you will easily modify and reuse your current midpipe. This lower priced option is in the pull-down.
